Product Description
Thermal Binding Spines (8.5-Inch) for Unibind and Peleman Systems
Unibind Spine Covers (by Peleman Industries) are versatile thermal binding spines designed for letter-size landscape documents and other wide-format binding needs. Unlike UniCover Flex, they do not include attached acetate covers, allowing you to use your own custom covers or Unibind CoverSets. Each steel spine includes a tear-away paper guide for quick, accurate loading on any Unibind machine. Formerly called SteelBack, these spines have been upgraded for use with crimping machines for an even tighter finish.
Perfect for: Letter-size landscape books and top-bound documents.

Frequently Asked Questions – 8.5" Unibind Spine Covers
What’s the difference between UniCover Flex and these spines?
UniCover Flex includes attached clear/matte covers. These spines are cover-only, letting you use your own front/back covers—or none at all.
Are the spines reusable?
Not for new projects. You can reopen and edit the same document, but for a different book, use a new spine.
Do I need to crimp?
Optional, but recommended for thicker bindings to seat pages deeper into the SteelResin™ adhesive.
Can I use these for 11×17 landscape?
No.
