Landscape Hard Cover Size & Sheet Capacity
Choose the spine size based on the number of sheets and the paper weight. Standard 20 lb. paper allows a higher sheet count, while thicker 32 lb. presentation paper such as vPaper reduces the number of sheets that will fit.
Capacities are general estimates. Include the thickness of tabs, inserts, dividers, laminated sheets, and specialty stock when selecting a cover size. Each box contains 10 covers of the same size and color.
| Spine Size | 20 lb. Paper | 32 lb. vPaper |
|---|---|---|
| 40 / 05 mm / 3/16" | 40 sheets | 30 sheets |
| 60 / 07 mm / 5/16" | 60 sheets | 40 sheets |
| 80 / 09 mm / 3/8" | 80 sheets | 65 sheets |
Using heavier paper, tabs, inserts, printed dividers, laminated sheets, or specialty stock? Choose the next larger spine when the document is close to the stated capacity.

Landscape Cover Design & Features
True Landscape Orientation
The document binds along the 8 1/2" edge rather than the standard 11" edge.
This creates a horizontal page format that works well for charts, photographs, portfolios, architectural layouts, financial presentations, and panoramic content.
Rigid Hardcover Construction
The rigid front and back covers protect the document while giving it the appearance of a professionally produced hardcover book.
This is a stronger presentation choice than loose report covers, comb binding, coil binding, or stapling.
Integrated Steel Spine
The steel spine holds the pages in position while the thermal binding resin bonds the document edge.
No punching, coils, combs, or loose binding components are required.
Available Colors & Custom Options
Black or Dark Blue Covers
Choose Black for a classic neutral presentation or Dark Blue for a professional alternative with more visual distinction.
Each box contains 10 covers in the selected color and spine size.
Optional Window Cut
Add a window to display a printed title page, logo, customer name, property name, photograph, project title, or document name through the front cover.
Standard window styles are available through the product options. Custom window requests may require additional production time.
Custom Foil Stamping
Add metallic foil text, a company logo, department name, project title, or other approved artwork directly to the front cover.
Foil stamping is a strong choice for repeat branded presentations, portfolios, proposals, and premium client materials.
Optional Landscape Hardcover Upgrades
Window Cut
Add a front-cover window to display a title page, logo, customer name, photograph, property name, or project title.
Foil Logo Stamping
Add metallic foil text or logos for branded portfolios, presentations, reports, proposals, and books.
Die Plate for New Artwork
A new foil-stamped logo or design requires a one-time die plate setup charge.
Repeat Logo Orders
When your approved die plate is already on file, select the existing logo or existing design option.
Landscape vPaper
Use compatible landscape vPaper lay-flat paper when the finished book needs to open more naturally and remain flatter during viewing.
Confirm the paper orientation before ordering because portrait and landscape vPaper bind along different edges.
Custom Presentation Assistance

Custom Foil Die Plate Charge
New custom foil logo orders require a one-time die plate setup charge. The die plate is produced from your approved logo or artwork and is used to create the foil imprint on the cover.
The die plate charge applies once per new logo or new artwork—not once per box. If several boxes are ordered with the same new design, add the die plate charge only once.
For repeat orders, select Reorder Existing Design when your approved die plate is already on file. Select Order a New Design when submitting new artwork or changing the existing imprint.
How to Bind Landscape Hard Covers
Choose the Cover Size
Count the pages, note the paper weight, and select the appropriate spine size from the capacity chart.
Prepare the Landscape Pages
Align the pages in landscape orientation and confirm that the title page and final page are positioned correctly.
Insert the Document
Place the page stack evenly inside the 8 1/2" hardcover spine so the pages rest against the thermal binding resin.
Heat the Spine
Place the assembled book into a compatible Unibind thermal binding machine and complete the heating cycle.
Crimp When Required
Crimp the spine when the selected cover and binding machine call for a tighter finished edge.
Cool the Finished Book
Allow the book to cool completely before handling so the adhesive can form its strongest bond.
Compatible Unibind Machines
Landsccape Hard Covers work with compatible Unibind and Peleman thermal binding machines. Choose the machine that best matches your document volume and preferred production process.
For best results, insert the pages evenly, complete the heating cycle, crimp when required, and allow the finished book to cool before handling.
Best Uses for Landscape Hard Covers
Portfolios and Visual Presentations
Create photography portfolios, design presentations, architectural books, marketing presentations, and visual project summaries.
Wide Reports and Proposals
Bind financial charts, engineering reports, real estate presentations, sales proposals, landscape spreadsheets, and panoramic reports.
Photo Books and Presentation Books
Produce event books, project books, product showcases, hospitality presentations, property books, and short-run landscape publications.
Landscape Hard Covers are a strong choice when horizontal content needs a permanent, polished presentation rather than being rotated or reduced to fit a portrait-format book.
More About Unibind Landscape Hard Covers
Unibind Landscape Hard Covers are designed for professional thermal binding systems that create finished books without punching holes through the pages. The steel spine holds the pages in position while the thermal resin bonds the document edge.
Binding along the 8 1/2" edge allows standard letter-size pages to remain in their natural landscape orientation. This is especially helpful for charts, photographs, floor plans, wide tables, portfolios, and presentation layouts that are difficult to read when rotated.
The rigid front and back covers give the finished piece the look and feel of a traditionally produced hardcover book while allowing short-run landscape books to be created in-house.
These covers are a practical fit for offices, real estate teams, design firms, schools, print shops, training departments, professional-service firms, and businesses that produce wide-format presentation books.
Manufactured by Peleman Industries
Peleman Industries has specialized in professional document presentation since 1939. Unibind systems and covers are engineered for reliable thermal binding, polished presentation quality, and repeatable in-house production.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes these covers landscape format?
Landscape Hard Covers bind along the 8 1/2" edge of letter-size pages. This keeps the pages in a horizontal orientation rather than requiring the reader to rotate a portrait-bound book.
Are Landscape Hard Covers compatible with my Unibind machine?
Yes. They work with the UniBinder 60, UniBinder 120, UniBinder 8.1, UniBinder 8.2, and other compatible Unibind and Peleman thermal binding systems.
How do I choose the correct spine size?
Count the sheets, note the paper weight, and use the capacity chart. Include the thickness of tabs, dividers, inserts, laminated pages, and specialty stock.
How many covers are included in a box?
Each box contains 10 Landscape Hard Covers in the selected spine size and color.
What colors are available?
Standard Landscape Hard Cover colors are Black and Dark Blue.
Can I add a window to the front cover?
Yes. Optional window cuts can display a printed title page, logo, client name, photograph, property name, project title, or other identifying information.
Can I add a logo or custom title?
Yes. Metallic foil stamping is available for logos, text, department names, project titles, and other approved artwork.
Is the die plate charge applied to every box?
No. The die plate is a one-time setup charge for each new logo or new artwork. Repeat orders can use an existing approved die plate already on file.
Can I use vPaper with Landscape Hard Covers?
Yes. Compatible landscape vPaper can help the finished book open more naturally and lay flatter. Because 32 lb. vPaper is thicker than standard 20 lb. paper, use the 32 lb. capacity column when selecting a cover size.
Are portrait-format hard covers also available?
Yes. See our Unibind Portrait Hard Covers for documents bound along the 11" edge.
How long do customized Landscape Hard Covers take?
Standard colors and sizes generally ship more quickly. Window cuts, foil stamping, artwork approval, and new die plate production may add additional lead time.

Couldn’t Find These Anywhere!
Wow, I am so glad I stumbled upon these covers. I used Unibind in the past, but I could never find the book covers that opened the wider way. We give these to our clients after they have purchased their home. We want the cover to stay out on a coffee table so people see our brand. This landscape hardcover does just the trick.
