Thermal Binding Spines – 8.5" Letter Landscape are Unibind Spine Covers by Peleman designed for letter-size landscape documents, top-bound reports, and other short-edge binding applications. These spines bind along the 8.5" edge, making them the correct choice when your finished document needs to open in landscape orientation.
Unlike UniCover Flex or Crystal Flex Covers, these thermal binding spines do not include attached clear or matte covers. Use them with your own front and back covers, printed title sheets, specialty paper, or Unibind CoverSets. Formerly called SteelBack, these spines use a steel spine with SteelResin™ thermal binding adhesive for a clean, professional bind.

Spine Size & Sheet Capacity
Choose the spine size based on your sheet count and paper weight. Standard 20 lb. paper allows a higher sheet count, while thicker 32 lb. presentation paper reduces the number of sheets that will fit.

How to Use Unibind 8.5" Spine Covers
- Choose the correct spine size from the capacity chart.
- Align the pages neatly and add your own front and back covers if desired.
- Insert the page stack into the spine so the pages sit against the adhesive.
- Place the assembled document into a compatible Unibind thermal binding machine and run the binding cycle.
- Allow the document to cool, then remove the tear-away paper guide at the perforation.
- Crimp when a tighter, more polished finish is desired.
