Protection & Construction
Fire protection
UL Class 350 rated for 1 hour at 1700°F for protection of paper records and other qualifying contents.
Water resistance
Water-resistant construction helps protect contents from sprinkler and fire-hose exposure. The cabinet is not waterproof or submersion-rated.
High-security locking
A UL high-security key lock is included as the standard locking system.
Electronic lock option
An optional E-Lock electronic keypad can be selected for electronic access.
Commercial storage
The full-height cabinet format is designed for high-capacity protected storage of records, binders, archive materials, and other mixed contents.

Choosing your configuration
Standard shelf storage: use the four adjustable shelves for binders, boxed records, books, archive materials, supplies, and oversized contents.
End-tab filing: optional end-tab shelving and dividers can be added when shelf-based filing is required.
Letter or legal file drawers: optional file drawers are available for traditional filing; a maximum of two file drawers can be installed in this cabinet.
Storage cabinet vs. file cabinet: choose the CF7236-D when flexible shelf storage and mixed contents are the priority. For high-density end-tab or top-tab filing, a dedicated FireKing file cabinet may be more appropriate.
Delivery & Placement
FireKing storage cabinets are built to order and shipped by freight. At approximately 892 lb., the CF7236-D requires a carefully reviewed, level delivery route. This model does not qualify for stair delivery.
Dock delivery Free
Delivered to an accessible commercial loading dock and left in the crate.
Liftgate delivery +$95
The cabinet is lowered to ground level and left curbside or at the first accessible door.
Lobby / garage +$295
The cabinet is moved inside the first accessible covered entry and remains crated.
Full-service delivery +$495
The cabinet is moved along an approved level route to the room of choice, uncrated, positioned, and cleared of standard packaging materials.
Stair delivery Not available
The CF7236-D does not qualify for stair delivery. Orders requiring steps may be refused and return freight will be the customer’s responsibility.
Access & placement
- No stairs or steps: this cabinet must have a level delivery route to the final placement location.
- Truck access: a 53' tractor-trailer must be able to access the delivery address.
- Doorways: verify actual clear doorway openings along the complete route before shipment.
- Hallways and turns: tight turns can prevent successful delivery even when doorway width is sufficient.
- Elevators: verify elevator-door opening, interior dimensions, and weight capacity.
- Final placement: consider how the 892-lb. cabinet will be positioned and whether it may need to be moved again in the future.
- Floor capacity: the final location must be capable of supporting the cabinet plus the weight of its contents.
Important: this item does not qualify for stair delivery. Orders placed for locations requiring steps may be refused, and the customer may be responsible for return freight.
