The Phoenix DataCare 2002 Media Safe is designed to protect digital media, removable drives, backup tapes, discs, cartridges, and other heat-sensitive storage formats. With UL Class 125 2-hour fire protection, this safe is built for customers who need certified media protection beyond what a standard paper fire safe can provide.

The Phoenix 2002 is a strong step-up option for small to mid-size businesses, home offices, IT departments, financial offices, medical offices, and users who need more usable interior space than smaller compact media safes. In addition to fire protection, it is designed to help resist water exposure, impact damage, and magnetic interference.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does UL Class 125 mean?

Class 125 is a media fire rating designed to keep the safe interior below 125°F during the fire test. This is important because many tapes, drives, discs, and cartridges can be damaged at lower temperatures than paper.

Is the Phoenix 2002 designed for digital media or paper files?

The Phoenix 2002 is designed primarily for digital media protection. It can also hold critical paperwork, but its main purpose is protecting media that requires lower internal temperatures than a paper-only fire safe.

How does the impact test help?

The impact test is designed to simulate severe fire conditions where a safe may fall through a weakened floor. The safe is heated, dropped 30 feet, and reheated as part of the impact and afterburn testing process.

Does this safe help protect against water exposure?

Yes. The double-door construction and internal seals help resist water intrusion from sprinklers and fire hose spray during emergency response.

Why choose the Phoenix 2002 over a smaller media safe?

The Phoenix 2002 offers more usable interior space while still providing certified Class 125 media protection. It is a good choice when compact models are too tight for cased tapes, cartridges, removable drives, or mixed media storage.

What warranty coverage is included?

Phoenix includes a 3-year parts and labor warranty and a free after-a-fire replacement guarantee.
