Phoenix World Class Insulated Files • Model LAT2W31

The Phoenix LAT2W31 is a compact 2-drawer, 31" wide lateral fireproof file cabinet for letter- and legal-size records, with UL Class 350 1-hour fire protection, 30-foot impact protection, and water-resistant construction.

Its low 28-3/4" profile and narrow lateral footprint make it a practical choice for private offices, home offices, reception areas, exam rooms, administrative workstations, and smaller records areas. The cabinet keeps active client files, patient records, employee documents, contracts, and other important paper records organized without requiring a wider 38" or 44" lateral file.

Both letter- and legal-size files can be arranged front-to-back or side-to-side. Phoenix proprietary Styronite® insulation and separately insulated drawers help protect closed drawers even if another drawer is open. A key-operated plunger lock secures both drawers, while the interlock system prevents more than one drawer from opening at a time.

The 31" wide cabinet provides lateral access in a compact footprint. Each drawer has 10-1/2" of usable interior height, 25" of interior width, and 15" of interior depth for flexible letter- or legal-size filing.

Full-Service White-Glove Delivery

The cabinet is brought inside, placed in the approved final location, and unpacked; standard packaging is removed. Service includes a maximum of three steps inside the building. Please allow approximately 10 business days.

Dock-to-Dock Delivery

AVAILABLE

Best for commercial locations with dock-height receiving and the equipment needed to unload the shipment. The packaged cabinet is left on the pallet at the loading dock.

Liftgate or Curbside Delivery

AVAILABLE

Used when no loading dock is available or inside placement is not needed. The carrier lowers the packaged cabinet to ground level and leaves it outside on the pallet at the nearest safely accessible area.

Tell us about special access before shipment. Stairs beyond the included limit, tight turns, elevators, narrow doors, long carries, small-truck access, restricted or remote locations, and other unusual site conditions may require advance approval and additional charges. Undisclosed conditions may cause delivery fees or restocking charges if the cabinet is returned.

Fire and Protection Ratings

  • UL Class 350 1-Hour Fire Rated: Tested for one hour with exterior furnace temperatures reaching 1700°F. The Class 350 rating means the interior remains below 350°F to help protect paper records.
  • 30-Foot Impact Tested: Tested to withstand a 30-foot drop while maintaining cabinet integrity, simulating the falling debris and structural collapse that can occur during a fire.
  • Explosion-Hazard Tested: Tested for sudden exposure to 2000°F flash-fire conditions to evaluate resistance to explosive rupture.
  • Water-Resistant Construction: Labyrinth seals and gaskets help resist water from automatic sprinklers and fire-hose spray. Water resistant does not mean waterproof or suitable for submersion.

Phoenix Warranty Coverage

The LAT2W31 includes a 3-year parts and labor warranty plus a lifetime after-fire replacement warranty. Coverage is subject to Phoenix’s current written terms, exclusions, proof-of-purchase requirements, and any required advance authorization.

Phoenix will replace the product with a like model free of charge in exchange for photos and a testimonial letter detailing the circumstance of the fire and how the product performed.
